Dolly Parton escaped the struggles of her life early on thanks to her inventive and innovative imagination. Even before learning to read or write, she composed her own music. She got her first guitar when she was just 8 years old and started performing on the Knoxville Tenn radio station at age eleven. The following year, she made her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. In high school she was able to establish herself within the local community, however her dream was greater. When she was graduating in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were her first two charting albums for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female vocalist to perform on his show syndicated by him at this point. Parton took the offer in 1967 signed with RCA Records in 1968 and became a member of with the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. The show ended in 1974 when her solo albums like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene had begun charting their collaborative efforts. Parton's song, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), reached the No. #1 spot following their separated. The first time in 1974.
