April Ross
April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select category of females who have been awarded medals at multiple Olympics. Alix Klineman, playing for the first time at the Tokyo Olympics, will try to earn her third Olympic medal. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic gold medal. At 39 this may be her last opportunity to accomplish this. However, she's confident that winning the gold medal is within reach. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and If we play our best, I think we could win the gold medal." Additionally, I'm going be relying on a little bit of luck. Ross born August 22nd, 1982 located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there together with her parents. At Newport Harbor High School, she was a participant in many different sports. Being a pre-athlete she was also a participant in indoor track and volleyball. She was definitely superior to the rest in the latter sport. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter, middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career at high school. For her efforts she was awarded an 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. Also, she won the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started the partnership in 2017, but Ross had been a beach-scene player for years prior to. In reality, she was a winner of numerous major events with two different partners, among them an icon of volleyball. Jennifer Kessy coached her from 2007 to 2013. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be an impressive force on the international circuit, winning the 2009 World Championship as a team. They went on to win a silver in the 2012 Olympic Games at London. The Misty Maytreanor legendary team along with Kerri Jennings were the winners of gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement after she had retired. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball at Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a Trojans player for the USC in her college years before becoming a professional. The time she spent at USC was a memorable one. Her freshman year in 2000 earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to get to the Final Four with her help. Her heart was broken by a tragic incident in her sophomore years, yet she was able to make it an All-American in her second year. In her final two seasons with the Trojans she was instrumental in helping them win consecutive championships. As an individual she established herself in the history books by winning the Honda Sports Award for 2003-04. This award was given to the best female college volleyball players across the nation. Ross took a course in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross was never able to watch her daughter's rise to the beach volleyball spotlight. When Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away from breast cancer. But, she will always hold her lost parent near and close. Margie has been an inspiration in her life and on the beaches.
